Meet your trainer for a Behavior Consultation
Your trainer comes to you and meets your dog in person. We confirm what you’ve told us, add what we see, and make sure you’re in the right program — whether that’s Furry Fundamentals, puppy training, Feral to Focus, or board & train.

- No commitment beyond the Behavior Consultation — you decide if we’re the right fit

What is basic obedience training?
Basic obedience is the shared language that makes daily life with your dog work — coming when called, walking on a loose leash, settling when asked, and manners at doors, at mealtimes, and around guests. It's the dog obedience training Sacramento families start with when the goal is a dog you can take anywhere and actually enjoy. We teach it through clear communication and relationship, not drills — because a skill your dog only performs for a treat in the kitchen isn't a skill yet.
What age dogs is Furry Fundamentals for?
Adolescents through seniors — there's no such thing as too old, and older dogs often focus better than puppies do. Young puppies in the critical window are the one exception: they start with Furst Steps, which is built specifically for that stage. If your dog is past the baby-puppy phase, this is your package.

Absolutely — newly adopted dogs are a great fit for Furry Fundamentals, and starting the relationship off right is exactly what this package is for. We can even help before you adopt: on a free intro call, we'll talk through the dog you're looking at and help you figure out whether you're working with an ethical rescue.
What skills will we cover?
Whatever your household actually needs — we build each dog's program after getting to know you both, not from a fixed curriculum. Most families work on leash walking, recall, settling, and door and greeting manners, and we teach you how to keep it all going after we leave. When your dog has a solid foundation, our group classes are where you proof those skills around real-world distractions.
How much does dog obedience training cost?
Furry Fundamentals is $650 for four private, in-home sessions. Every dog starts with a one-hour Consultation ($150–$200, depending on your trainer), and after the package, follow-up sessions are $85 each, anytime in your dog's life. Financing is available. Across the industry, dog obedience training prices depend on how experienced your trainer is and what the local market looks like, so you'll see a range. Our pricing is public — no mystery quotes.
